Discover the flavourful Greenlipped Mussel as a delightful barbecue appetizer, perfect for those relaxed Friday afternoons with a drink before dinner. Prepare quickly and easily with just a few ingredients!
BARBECUE APPETIZER
What you need
4 | Greenshell mussels |
1 | Clove of garlic |
1 | Lemon |
1 teaspoon | Coarse salt |
2 tablespoons | Oil |
PREPARATION
Step 1: Thaw the Greenshell Mussels and pat them dry. Crush the garlic and salt in a mortar and mix it with the lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of oil.
Step 2: Heat the barbecue directly to high temperature. Place the Mussels with the shell down on the grill above the heat source. The moisture from the mussels will boil and evaporate in the shell.
Step 3: Spread the remaining tablespoon of oil over the shells so the Mussels can fry. After 3 minutes, pour the oil out of the shells and place them shell side up back on the grill.
Step 4: After a minute, flip them over and add half a teaspoon of the mixture from the mortar to each shell. Then remove the Mussels from the barbecue.
Serve the Greenshell Mussels on a beautiful plank with a nice (blond) beer! Enjoy your meal!
